Everyone has heard the stories of the Ancient Cities. Not everyone has heard the same story, but everyone knows at least one tale of a City that was far beyond the technology of the civilization it existed in, or how it was full of magic, and how when its civilization or religion was threatened, it disappeared without a trace, as if it was simply erased from the Earth. Well, they had to go somewhere, right?
In Paradise, all of the lost cities can be found. It is the refuge of all kinds of people, and they have found a way to tolerate each other to keep their cultures alive. The countries of Avalon, Atlantis, Valhalla, Genosha, Eden, Uluru, and the Sun Islands all find ways of being diplomatic and maintaining trade. Of course, punching a hole big enough in reality to create a whole other planet for these places never truly heals, and occasionally people from Earth and other places wind up in Paradise.
However, don't let the name fool you. Life in Paradise is far from perfect. It still has the same problems as normal life. There is still variable weather, days of famine and disease, and the ever-present human emotions like violence and passion. There will always be problems as long as there are people, and Paradise is not immune to that.
Don't let that deter you. Living in Paradise has its perks. There is magic here, and primal power. You get to experience cultures that have not existed for hundreds or even thousands of years and get to see and experience things that could not possibly exist on Earth. You never know who you'll meet, where or when they are from. Life is always a surprise in Paradise.
